Bungee Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Sling Bungee can be uncomfortable if you aren’t dressed properly. Here are our recommendations and requirements,
Fitted clothing is required. Flowy, loose clothing interferes with harness fit and safety.
Tight-fitting leggings/compression pants work best. Wear shorts over your leggings for extra comfort. Some people start with bike shorts over leggings for the first few times, but soon no longer need them.
T-shirts or tank tops that aren’t flowy or baggy. A good sports bra is highly recommended.
Hairstyle - A high ponytail, side pony, bun, or braids work well and will prevent hair from getting caught in the bungee gear.
Footwear - Athletic shoes with good support is recommended. Sandals, high heels, and any footwear not designed for fitness activities are not allowed.
Socks without grippy parts on the bottom will not work for Bungee.
Jewelry - Necklaces and loose bracelets are not allowed. Jewelry (can get caught in the bungee or snag the silks).
Shorts (without leggings underneath) are not allowed for Bungee.
Lotions or creams on hands or feet (this can cause slippage/can affect grip).
Water: Bring a water bottle that has a good cap in case it gets knocked over.
Towel: Bring a small towel to advanced classes
Why is there a weight restriction?
Bungee Weight Restrictions: 90- 250 pounds. These restrictions are for trainers to know what size harness and how many bungee cords you need. Other than an adventure benchmark, your weight does not say anything about your fitness level, your spirit, your ability, your flexibility or the number of laughs a minute you are going to have. It will be on record privately so you can watch your progress!
What else should I know?
Both Bungee and rebounding are low-impact, resistance, and plyometric training activities. Plyometrics uses the speed and force of various movements (push-ups, throwing, running, jumping, kicking) to build muscle power. Both influence lymph flow positively. Both allow you to burn calories, build cardio strength, and work up a good sweat.
ALL CLASSES are by RESERVATION ONLY due to the limited number of harnesses and rebounders. The reservation system will tell you if there are openings in a class. Waitlist?
For the same reason, if you cancel within 12 hours of class time - you will NOT be refunded your class fee. If you reschedule within 12 hours of class-time, you will be charged a $10.00 late change fee.
Private classes of 6 to 10 can be scheduled. If you would like to plan a private /party for you, your friends, or your team, you can do that through the reservation system. We will follow up for information on what you have planned. Contact info@flyawayfitnesstx.com for more information.
There is no childcare provided. You must be 12 years old (and with a parent) to participate in a regular bungee fitness class. If you are under age 12, please join a kid’s class.
